The Pass is looking nice today.

Made some new head way on the track this last couple of weeks. Painted the pass added some more trees, and planted grass. Really all that is left is the bottom cliff and more trees. If anyone is looking for some scenery stuff i have been making some and am willing to trade some out. Keep looking as new progress happens everyday here at Kilpatrick Motor Plex.

Moving right along now.

Here is a few pictures of the updated scenery and new car for the up and coming series at the beaverton slot car club. The track is coming along really nicely and i have had very few problems so far. Also i would like to add that the track is 90 percent home made from things found around the house or traded for. The little trees you see in the back ground of the turn were made from copper wire twisted then separated to look like branches. Then add a little moss and walla trees. I am hoping to have most of the basic scenery done by christmas but we will see as the in-laws will be visiting all next week. thank you all again for watching and keep posted for new stuff.

Great fun at Kilpatrick Motor Plex

Last night KMP had a few young racers over for a few hot laps and drinks. From what I saw is that everyone who was there had a great time racing the track. Keeping the cars in working order has been tough, but fun at the same time. The only thing holding me back from having real racing fun is the lap counter. I guess I need to get to work on that.

Driver Stations.

Hooked up the Driver stations last night and they work great. The white station is for the white lane and the black station is for the black lane. But still all i need is another controller. So followers please keep me posted on extra controllers lying around. Gosh this is such a fun track. I cant wait to have you all come race it with me really soon. Next step Lap timers.

Things have moved pretty fast in the last few days here at Kilpatrick Motor Plex. Some scenery, foam moving, and most of all the copper tape. I was able to do a few laps tonight and wow, what a great track. Was running around 8 sec laps, could be raced faster if i wasn't  looking at a stop watch. Next steps will be setting up a lap counter and timer, along with driver stations. If anyone knows of a extra controller i could use it. Hope you are all enjoying my progress because i know i am.

Laying down the Pavement.

Put down some new paint on the track last evening things are looking great. I believe we will be running a black lane and a white lane. As you may see there is a section of the track not yet painted or routed. this section has been something im not to sure how im going to handle it. well i am guessing i will have tape down and a few laps completed be the end of next week. the only thing i will be missing for the track will be a timing device. stay tuned things are coming along great.

New Progress was made today at KMP 95% of all routing is complete the last step will be the bride section over the hair pin. The white and black paint is going to be the different lanes. Im not to sure how long the track is but i am gonna be guessing around 50 to 60 feet. I am really looking forward to making new progress in the next few days.

Some new structures going up.

Last night I was sitting around and was needing a building for Kilpatrick Ridge. This is the first steps of the start house. There is no paint on the building yet but when finished the roof will have a look out area and some stadium lighting.

Welcome to Kilpatrick Motor Plex

We welcome you racers to Kilpatrick Motor Plex here in lovely North Portland Oregon. KPM started out as a hobby to keep me busy during all the rainy days of Portland. Now KMP is moving in a new direction and wants your help. The only help we need is you to come by and check out the track and take a stab at slot cars, we promise great fun for everyone. Soon there will be scheduled race dates and other fun to be had in the near future. Thank you and drive fast.
